Elevate your Sales Strategy with LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Dynamics 365

Digital transformation is real, and it got here a lot quicker than any of us were expecting. As Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella mentioned at this year’s Inspire Conference, “As COVID-19 impacts every aspect of work and life globally, Microsoft has seen two years‘ worth of digital transformation in just two months”.  Being forced to do traditional work activities like selling from client to client has had to evolve to survive during lockdowns that have been implemented around the world. This is why companies are rethinking their business processes and ways of servicing their customers.

Social Selling

Social selling enables businesses to bring their sales department into the digital world. 92% of buyers start their search on the web with a google search. Buying decisions are often influenced by information found on the Internet and on social media and salespeople can sell more by supporting the shift in buying behaviour and tapping into the online communities as part of their integrated sales strategy. Social selling empowers your sales team with all the requisite skills to shift from ‘hard’ to ‘smart selling’.

Social selling allows you to build trusted relationships, leverage your network to find the right prospects, and ultimately achieve sales goals. Applying this sales technique will enable better sales to lead generation while building and maintaining relationships within a network that both you and your customer trust.

According to a HubSpot study, more than 40% of salespeople say prospecting is the most challenging part of the sales process, followed by closing (36%) and qualifying (22%). If you find prospecting to be the most difficult part of your job, you’re not alone.

More than 70% of salespeople who use social media networking in their sales process outperform their peers who don’t.

Why LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Dynamics?

The main purpose of connecting LinkedIn Sales Navigator to Microsoft Dynamics is to remove duplication of work and create a seamless experience between Sales Navigator and your customer engagement platform.

This integration between the two ensures that all your customer data is in one place, whether you prefer to work on LinkedIn or Dynamics. Dynamics lets you view all your LinkedIn leads profile information with visibility into their work history, connections you might have in common, what articles interest them and what groups they are part of.

Armed with all this information, you can initiate new conversations and explore new sales opportunities. For instance, when you read that one of your leads has posted an article about a certain topic, you might send a personal message through LinkedIn, commenting on it and giving your perspective or connection to the particular topic

The LinkedIn/Dynamics 365 integration can even suggest additional contacts based on your prospect’s network, that could open a brand-new lead-generation pool.

Latest Updates and Features

Microsoft releases major changes and updates twice a year and we are ready for the upcoming feature release. It will include:

1. You can create a contact record in Dynamics 365 from a LinkedIn profile with one click of a button. No more copying and pasting data from Sales Navigator to Dynamics.

2. When you make a note on a contact in Sales Navigator, it automatically adds it to Dynamics.

3. Smart Links will be replacing the PointDrive functionality, which allows Sales Navigator users to share content, such as files, presentations, and other documents with customers and prospects. When this content is accessed, you will receive a notification email and the ‘view’ will also be visible on the contact record in Dynamics

Using LinkedIn Sales Navigator can increase your organisation’s sales while also managing relationships with existing customers. This a helpful tool for success in the social selling era for those who want to stay ahead of the curve.
